In a strategic move to bolster tourism partnerships, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ tourism body, the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), recently concluded impactful roadshows in Lucknow and Jaipur. These events, held on September 10 and 12, 2026, served as a platform to connect directly with North India's travel trade, enhancing business-to-business (B2B) relationships and showcasing the potential of the Andaman Islands as a premier tourist destination.

    Engaging the Travel Trade

The roadshows attracted a diverse audience of travel agents, tour operators, and industry stakeholders. In Lucknow, the event featured over 150 participants eager to learn about the latest offerings from the Andaman Islands. Similarly, Jaipur saw an enthusiastic turnout, with more than 120 attendees expressing keen interest in Andaman tourism. AATO’s dedicated efforts to engage with these markets highlight the importance of North India as a crucial source of visitors. Originally reported by ANDAMAN SHEEKHA.

During the presentations, experts from AATO detailed the unique experiences the islands offer, from pristine beaches to rich cultural heritage. AATO’s Chairman, Rajesh Kumar, emphasized the significance of strengthening ties with Northern travel agents, stating, “Our goal is to make the Andaman Islands a household name among Indian travelers. The response we’re receiving from agents in these states shows we’re on the right track.”

    Highlighting Unique Attractions

One of the key focuses of the roadshows was to highlight the diverse attractions of the Andaman Islands. Attendees learned about the stunning natural beauty and adventure activities available, including snorkeling, scuba diving, and trekking through lush forests. Specific islands like Havelock and Neil were showcased for their breathtaking landscapes and vibrant marine life.

Additionally, AATO introduced new packages aimed at different segments of travelers, including honeymooners, families, and adventure seekers. This strategic diversification is designed to attract a wider audience and cater to varying preferences. Rajesh Kumar noted, “By offering tailored experiences, we hope to appeal to all kinds of tourists, ensuring that everyone finds something special in the Andamans.”

    Strengthening B2B Relationships

The roadshows also served as a crucial networking opportunity. Travel agents were encouraged to forge partnerships with local Andaman operators, creating a seamless travel experience for their clients. This B2B approach aligns with AATO’s vision to streamline processes and enhance service quality for visitors.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many agents expressing a renewed interest in promoting Andaman tourism. One travel agent from Jaipur remarked, “The Andaman Islands have always been on our radar, but after this presentation, I feel equipped to sell these destinations more confidently to my clients. The new packages and experiences will definitely attract more travelers.”

    Looking Ahead: Future Initiatives

The AATO is not resting on its laurels. Following the success of the Lucknow and Jaipur roadshows, the organization plans to expand its outreach further into other cities across India. Future events are expected in metropolitan hubs like Delhi and Mumbai, where the potential for tourism growth is substantial.

Moreover, AATO is also exploring digital marketing strategies to enhance visibility among potential travelers. The integration of social media campaigns and influencer partnerships is being considered to reach a broader audience, especially among younger travelers. Rajesh Kumar concluded, “As we move forward, we will leverage both traditional and digital marketing to ensure that the Andaman Islands remain a top-of-mind destination for Indian tourists. We are committed to making this beautiful paradise accessible to everyone.”

So, the recent roadshows in Lucknow and Jaipur mark a significant step towards revitalizing interest in Andaman tourism. By fostering B2B relationships and enhancing the visibility of its unique offerings, AATO is poised to make the Andaman Islands a must-visit destination for travelers from across North India.
