Understanding 31 Fun Things To Do In Tucson This Weekend: Markets, Raves And More

Kick off your weekend by visiting the Summer Night Market at the MSA Annex, where local vendors and artists gather to showcase their unique creations. Held on the fourth Friday of every month through September, this market offers a delightful shopping experience under the stars. Learn more about this topic on Wikipedia.

On Friday, May 29, from 6-10 p.m., attendees can browse a myriad of stalls featuring handmade crafts, artisanal foods, and more. Admission is free, but don’t forget to bring some cash for those must-have items. The MSA Annex is located at 267 S. Avenida Del Convento, making it a convenient spot for locals and visitors alike.

    Zoo Nights and Disco Fever

For those looking for a unique night out, the Summer Safari Nights at Reid Park Zoo promises an enchanting evening. Guests can enjoy the zoo after hours, with special activities like feeding giraffes-just like Ryogen Iwasa did with Jasiri the giraffe during a recent event. This special night will take place on multiple dates, allowing participants to experience the wildlife in a whole new light.

If dancing is more your scene, head over to Sky Bar at 536 N. 4th Ave for a mesmerizing fire show by the Cirque Collective Fire Troupe, kicking off at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. The event is free to attend, though drinks are available for purchase. Later that night, the Dark Rave at 191 Toole will start at 9 p.m., promising an electrifying atmosphere for party-goers. Tickets for this event are priced at $19.

    Nostalgia and Comedy Await

Travel back in time at The Surly Wench Pub’s ’90s Dance Party, which starts at 9 p.m. on Friday. Dress in your best ’90s attire or come as you are, and enjoy a night filled with nostalgic dance hits. Tickets for this throwback event are just $5, making it an affordable option for a fun night out.

Comedy lovers won’t want to miss the Tucson Improv Movement’s Improvathon: A Carnival of Comedy. Spanning various times from May 29-31, this annual event features 27 hours of continuous improv, showcasing local talent and providing laughter for all. All-access tickets are available for $20, with individual event pricing varying.

Young Playwrights Festival: A Showcase of Talent

In addition to the lively entertainment scene, the Sixth Annual Young Playwrights of Tucson festival will be held at Live Theatre Workshop, located at 3322 E. Fort Lowell Rd. This event showcases six short plays produced by students, who were selected as winners from the Live Theatre Workshop’s Young Playwrights competition. The festival runs throughout the weekend, with general admission priced at $20.

As the weekend approaches, Tucsonans and visitors alike can immerse themselves in an array of events that celebrate local culture, creativity, and community spirit. From shopping under the stars to enjoying comedy and dance parties, the city offers an exciting blend of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you’re a longtime resident or just visiting, Tucson’s weekend lineup promises a memorable experience. So gather your friends, embrace the vibrant atmosphere, and make the most of your weekend in Tucson!
